Natural sunscreen by Aisulu

Welcome to my website! My name is Aisulu, and I'm a dedicated Grade 10 student at KIS School. I am thrilled to share with you my Personal Project, which revolves around the fascinating exploration of how natural products can influence the health of our skin.In my quest for understanding, I have delved into the world of skincare and, as a part of my project, have crafted a natural sunscreen. This sunscreen underwent rigorous testing on various skin types, and I conducted experiments using testing paper to observe its impact under different conditions, particularly concerning exposure to UV light.
Join me in exploring the impact of natural products on the skin, and discover the exciting results of my experiments with the natural sunscreen. I hope that my project sparks your interest and encourages you to think more about the products you use on your skin. Thank you for visiting, and enjoy your exploration of my website!

Ingredients that I used to create my sunscreen

  • Coconut oil

  • Option to use (extra virgin olive oil, argon oil, carrot seed oil)

  • Cocoa butter

  • Beeswax

  • Non nano zinc oxide

All these ingredients are eco friendly.

Testing on different types of skin

The next step was to test it on different types of skin. I tested it on myself (normal, prone to oily skin type), on my brother (prone to dry skin type), on my mother (prone to dry skin type).
The photos show the result an hour after applying the sunscreen. Now I can say that no allergies or reactions have been found on human skin on these skin types.

Testing on paper experiment

To find out the power of my sunscreen I conducted an experiment to see how much it protects human skin. What exactly did I need for it: regular cream, sunscreen that I made, body lotion, coins, testing paper and of course good weather. To start, I cut the paper into four pieces. On one I applied regular cream, on the second body lotion, on the third a large amount of sunscreen that I made, on the fourth a smaller amount of it. Then I put it all under the rays of the sun and so that the ultraviolet rays hit evenly, I put the coins on the edges of the pieces of paper.
After 5 hours, I saw a positive result that the sunscreen remained on the paper and it did not darken, that is, this indicates that it formed a protective layer for the skin from sun rays, unlike ordinary cream and body lotion, which simply absorbed into the paper and it darkened.

Here you can see exact products that I used for this experiment.

I ordered testing paper from an online store, used regular face cream and body lotion, and of course sunscreen that I made myself.

The results:

Here you can see what the results of my experiment looked like. The first paper contains regular face cream, the second a small amount of sunscreen, the third a large amount of sunscreen, and the fourth paper contains body lotion. I decided to put my sunscreen on two papers to make it easier to compare with other products. As we can see from the photo, the sunscreen has formed a protective layer, unlike other products.

In conclusion

As we conclude our exploration into the world of natural skin care, I want to thank you for joining me on this journey. Researching the effects of natural products, especially through creating and testing my natural sunscreen, has been an eye-opening experience.Various tests on different skin types and experiments with exposure to ultraviolet radiation provided valuable information.
